Welcome to PHO 5.0!

In the twilight years of PHO 4.0, activity was fleeting and the site wasn't being updated like it used to be. To ensure PHO’s success, it was decided that changes needed to be made, if PHO wanted to survive as one of the premier Hacking Forums and Hacking Resource sites on the web, which had been one of its goals since it was conceived. At first, the staff had decided to modify the forum with new plugins and simply add new site content, but that wasn’t enough, bigger, better changes had to be made. After all of this, the administration of PHO took the executive decision to revamp the site once more, into what you see now, PHO 5.0.   PHO 5.0 now focuses heavily on both ROM Hacking and Game Development, and the staff will be filling the site with new content, each day/week. It was decided that the PHO will still stay true to its idea of being a forum mainly for project development, but now it covers Game Development as well, so that it can attract a new wave of members, especially since many hackers these days are converting to Game Development, and the Game Dev fanbase is steadily building. Our Hacking department will be as prominent as ever. It is recommended that you keep an eye out for new hacks and fangames that will appear at PHO, such as Pokemon Waterfall and Pokemon Forever Lost, as well as the tools you'll need to make the best hacks and fangames. The site may seem scarce, at the moment, as we are still kicking things into high gear, but fear not, in a few weeks, the site will be filled with new tools, hacks, tutorials and fangames. The site layout has changed as well and now features and even sleeker and cleaner layout than the last site version. The forum layout has changed as well, and the forums now have a new skin to use, which has a similar design to the site. Additionally, ROMHackTube, a popular area during the early days of PHO 4.0, has returned, so we hope to see it filled with footage of your newest and best hacks and used to its maximum extent, so that users can enjoy posting their own hacks and viewing the hacks of others. The site also features an archive of old PHO screenshots, from the older site versions, which can possibly give you a taste of nostalgia, if you were around during PHO’s older site and forum versions, or if you’re a new user, at least it will help give you a taste of the past. The forums have gotten smaller and friendlier, focusing mainly on ROM Hacking and Game Development, but most of the old sections have returned as subforums. Abnegation was promoted back to Administrator and Trace was promoted to Super Moderator. All of the old forum skins are useable as well and new ones will most likely be developed in the near future. The forums may seem a bit small for now, but as PHO grows in popularity, we are likely to expand and possibly create new forums and subforums if there is a demand for them. If, after a while, you think PHO should add a new forum or subforum, then by all means, bring it up in the “Support” forum, which replaces the old “Feedback” forum. Finally, the VIP Rank is now attainable by having it conferred upon you by the staff, after making many quality and helpful posts, just don’t try super hard or ask for it, you probably won’t get it, then. Anyhow, we hope you enjoy the new site and forum and either return to or join, PHO, “Your Community” for a great project development and social experience.
